TGV is the fastest train in Europe, running up to speeds of 200mph and their carbon footprint is tiny compared to going by plane.
Seating is spacious and comfortbale, with most having armrests and individual tables. The new Lyria trains, which travel to Switzerland, have interiors designed by Christian Lacroix.
They also have double decker trains. TGV trains go to more than 150 destinations across France, as well as carrying passengers into Belgium, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Italy. In the buffet car you can buy hot food, snacks and drinks.
You can also purchase Metro tickets for destintions such as Paris, Lyon, Turin and Milan, which is very useful.
There are power sockets in first class.
Baby changing facilities are available.
Wheelchair and companion spaces can be found in the first class sections of the trains and disabled toilets are located near wheelchair spaces.
