Prentzlauer Berg

This is the old Berlin, with long, leafy streets of 19th Century apartment blocks. It's now been colonised by the young and creative, and much resembles a style magazine brought to life- though one with more warmth and lower prices. Along Koll Witzstrasse, there are funky types on bikes, small independent shops selling posters, flowers, shoes and books, fashion boutiques, and nearby, Bio, a vast two storey organic supermarket, which is permanently busy. Fortunately, there are also excellent bars serving wine and beer to the less holistically toxin-free. Sitting outside, surrounded by animated, happy couples discussing their days, and listening to the birds chirping in German in the chestnut trees, you think, "I could live here always."
